ABOUT ANTHONY’S EYE

PERSONAL NOTE

I have had a relationship with a camera since I was a senior in high school 60 years ago.  I often used the camera to document meaningful events in my life but never thought of making photography a profession.  A career in the United States Air Force afforded me opportunities to visit and photograph wonderful distant places and vistas.  At the urging of friends, in 2001, I entered  Adirondack Life Magazine’s 6th Annual  Photography Contest.  My entry, North Lake, was awarded first place in the color division. That recognition spurred my taking photography more seriously.  It led to numerous solo exhibitions, entering juried shows and competitions.

TRAINING

I did not have any formal training until I enrolled  in a week long Landscape Photography Workshop led by David Middleton at the Maine School of Photography, Rockport, Maine. As a result of that experience  my images took a quantum leap from snapshots and an occasional “keeper” to more and more images of which I am very proud and that others have validated as unique and special. My skills continued to improve as I continued to enroll in additional photography workshops.

THIS WEBSITE

This website would not be possible without the extraordinary effort put forth by my son, Antonio. He is my webmaster. I depend on him to navigate the complicated world of digital photography. His knowledge and digital skills are the reason this website exists and will continue providing the quality of  images to be seen by others.

I hope my photographs generate a few moments of peace, tranquility and pleasure.
